Congratulations David Palinkas - MVP March 2026🎉🎉🎉
David's exceptional leadership and commitment to safety within the Mobile Equipment Maintenance workshop has earned him our MVP Award for March!
A Tyre Technician with 5 years’ experience, David is based on our BHP site - Mining Area C in Western Australia. David consistently upholds a high safety standard by ensuring every machine is correctly jacked and stood before any work involving tyre or wheel removal begins.
During a recent task on a Haulmax 3900, David identified that the machine had been incorrectly jacked by workshop personnel. Before any work commenced, he immediately raised his concerns and ensured the correct jacking and standing procedures were followed. His proactive intervention prevented potential risk and ensured the safety of the entire crew.
Operations Manager West, Victor Duong said that David’s attention to detail and willingness to speak up reinforces a strong safety culture and exemplifies the behaviours valued by Otraco and recognised by BHP.
