Otraco announces expanded distribution for FMA equipment

by on

With a focus on delivering innovation in tyre management solutions to help customers succeed, Otraco is pleased to announce the extension of our distribution agreement with FMA Industrial (Chile) SA.

FMA has more than 28 years manufacturing experience, delivering customers solutions for complex hydraulic systems, mechanical systems, welding contribution, metal forming and maintenance planning.

“FMA is recognised for innovation and safety in equipment design. These attributes are aligned with our key pillars of thought leadership and zero harm. We have seen the benefit of this alignment for customers in Chile and Southern Africa and we’re looking forward to incorporating FMA’s industry leading equipment into our tyre management solutions for customers across Australia, Papua New Guinea and the South Pacific region,” said Greg Glennon, Otraco General Manager.

Greg said much of the success has been due to a shared focus on innovation and safety in the delivery of tyre management solutions.

In addition to South America and Southern Africa, Otraco’s distribution agreement now includes Australia, Papua New Guinea and the South Pacific Region. The expanded agreement is effective 1 November 2019.

FMA’s Manager, Hector Cordova said FMA is pleased to be working closely with Otraco to provide their innovative equipment to mining customers in an expanded capacity.

“For FMA, our extended agreement with Otraco provides a great opportunity to introduce our innovative range of equipment to a broader market globally whilst providing Otraco’s customers with a seamless process to purchase and maintain FMA equipment’, said Hector.

One of FMA’s latest equipment releases, the Vertical Tyre Handler SVTH-5000 Series, is already generating keen interest from customers in the Australasian region.

“The Vertical Tyre Handler’s unique elevated work platform provides a safe working environment that reduces risk to tyre fitters and significantly improves safety. These are key deliverables for our mining customers who are always looking for innovative ways to ensure workers stay safe on mine sites,” said Greg.

Hector said FMA’s equipment is designed in collaboration with customers to ensure that new equipment is fit for purpose and delivers operational improvements. He said the new Vertical Tyre Handler SVTH-5000 is a good example of this collaboration.

“Our revolutionary design for the Vertical Tye Handler SVTH-5000 has been well received by world-class mining companies including Codelco in Chile, Vale Mining in Brazil and Minera Escondida BHP in Chile. We look forward to introducing the safety and productivity benefits of the Vertical Tyre Handler to Otraco’s mining customers in the Australasian region,” said Hector.
